Other Media

Between my education, professional roles, and personal projects, I have enjoyed working with a variety of media. Here, you will find a mixed media art gallery. Click the artwork to see its full size and info. The bottom of this page features interactive designs/prototypes that I created for a studio course at OSU.

THICK SKIN Publication

In April 2018, my magazine collage, THICK SKIN, was chosen to be the cover art for vol. 135 of the Prism, Oregon State University's premier art and literary journal.

DIGITAL PUBLICATION

Coming into one's own skin. Hopefully, by the time you reach the end of this edition, you will feel a sense of coming into your own ... you will feel a sense of community ... you will remain hopeful in your community, in yourself---in us all. Illumination.

Click to learn how THICK SKIN impacted the OSU community at the 5th annual Maker's Fair, a story featured on the Prism Backmatter blog.

For the 5th Annual Fair Makers event we wanted to focus on building community through creative expression. To recreate the collage cover art of vol. 135, we invited community members to participate in our “Reflection Wall” by writing a word, or drawing an image that they felt reflected who they are, what their community is like, or what they’d like to see reflected throughout the world.

Travel Aesthetics - Zine

As I brainstormed for this project and looked at examples of zines, I became inspired by the extent to which artists are able to explore a single idea. This process reminded me of poetry and the level of symbolism behind precisely arrange words. I decided to format my zine as if it were a poem.

Travel aesthetics are something that I really enjoy; I find them liberating. I believe that when we travel and explore new things we can develop further understanding on who we are as individuals. The better we know ourselves, the more freedom we feel. I kept this message in mind while organizing found text throughout this zine.

To execute this project, I remixed found text and images in Photoshop and then imported them into an InDesign booklet. I experimented with layering techniques and discovered that layers and effects from Photoshop can be easily transferred to InDesign.

Let There Be Light

"Let There Be Light" is a poem that I wrote for OSU's The Exchange, a forum for writers, readers, and new perspectives. This forum lives within OSU's Daily Barometer and it publishes student writing. I wrote this poem to highlight an issue on campus and to inform the university on how they can lighten life for OSU students. Click the link below to view the digital copy of The Baro that my poem was featured in. You will find "Let There Be Light" on page 11.

Interactive Designs

These mockup designs were created with a free, open-source GUI prototyping tool called Evolus Pencil.

I designed this app for an action sports club at OSU called C.ORE Freeride. C.ORE stands for Corvallis, Oregon. As a member of this club for 3 years, I thought it might be interesting to brainstorm a hypothetical app that C.ORE members could use to navigate their member perks and communicate with other members about upcoming events.

GELP! is an app that I designed to practice organizing & styling large quantities of information on a small screen. Below, you will find the web version of this app. GELP! stands for "Get Help" and the app serves as a platform for people to get information on places that are located near them. It's inspired by Yelp.
